Why You Shouldn’t Use A Brand Voice in Your Blog Posts November 17, 2019 by Duncan Croker Your brand voice isn't designed for your blogs, so you need to create a new voice to properly engage readers. I tell you why and how.

Quick Lessons

Creating a slogan for a product, service, or marketing campaign is hard.

Here’s the four-step process I use to simplify it:

  1. Start with the messaging and target market, then work backwards. It’s easier, faster, and creates better slogans.
  2. Write in your brand voice. A tonally wrong slogan will stand out in the worst possible way.
  3. Keep it short, snappy and memorable. Try slogans that are three to five words of two syllables or less.
  4. Brainstorm lots of options. Put aside a few hours – your slogan is the most important thing you’ll write for that campaign/product/service.
  5. Avoid clichés and committees. Clichés are forgettable, and advice from too many people waters down even the best writing.

P.S. Slogan =/= tagline. A slogan spearheads a specific campaign, product or service. A tagline represents your company’s brand.
